Berlinale Talent Campus 2010 coming to a close

An intense week with the Berlinale Talent Campus is now slowly coming to an end and boy do I need to catch up on my sleep! It has been an amazing experience, meeting and sharing ideas with talented film makers, editors, writers from all around the world, nurturing friendships which hopefully will turn into future collaborations. 350 people will be going back their own ways after the Talent Campus but a lot of us will stay in contact. I’ve also been busy promoting my feature thriller project THE TRICK which has been receiving positive feedback at the European Film Market, I’m going home with a pile of business cards, the real work starts now…

While I’m busy putting the final touches to DON’T TOUCH THE MOUSTACHE, I’ve also had the time to complete XMAS EVE and cut a trailer for it, with the precious help from my friend EDDY HASSAL and his gorgeous Aussie accent for the voice-over and the fantastic Chrismassy soundtrack recorded by STEVE BROWN. Check it out. A website for the film is also being built as we speak and DVD’s hot from the press will soon be shipped to the fests, so it’s all happening, my tuxedo is ready for walking up the steps at Cannes. I just need a paying job pretty badly now…

Jungle Marathon 2009 is over

I am writing to you from Alter do Chao, Brazil, the heart of the Amazon Jungle where the 2009 edition of the Jungle Marathon has just finished. 120 competitors running 220km through the thick jungle over 5 days. Covering this event has definitely been a marathon for me and Adam, my fellow cameraman. There has been close calls for some of the athletes with four of them ending up in Santarem’s hospital but they all now seem to have recovered. Fire ants and hornet bites, horrendous feet blisters and fungus infections have punctuated this event throughout. Only half of the contestants made it by the finish line.
